Alan Wray Tudyk was born on March 16, 1971 , and he is an American actor . Among his notable film roles are the film 28 Days in 2000, the medieval adventure A Knight's Tale in 2001, the comedy Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story in 2004, and motion capture work for Sonny in I, Robot in 2004. He also appeared in the Western thriller 3:10 to Yuma in 2007 and starred in the black comedy horror film Tucker & Dale vs. Evil in 2010. Tudyk has also been featured in the action blockbuster Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, the biographical film 42 in 2013, Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials in 2015, and the historical drama Trumbo in 2015. Since 2012, he has lent his voice to characters in every Walt Disney Animation Studios film . Tudyk is also known for his television roles portraying Wash in the cult-favorite space Western Firefly from 2002 to 2003. Despite its short run, the show became a beloved cult classic. Tudyk returned to this role in the 2005 continuation film Serenity, delving further into the series' storyline. His other roles include the English black comedy Death at a Funeral in 2007, the comedy series Arrested Development in 2005, 2013, and 2019, the sci-fi thriller Dollhouse from 2009 to 2010. In animation, he provided the voice of Green Arrow in Young Justice from 2010 to 2013 and in 2019, as well as various characters in American Dad! since 2011.
